Sven Väth is the German techno patriarch, Cocoon Recordings founder and a defining figure of the global club underground since the 1980s. His Cocoon Ibiza residency at Amnesia (1999–2018) was one of the island's most influential parties, and his charismatic, marathon sets remain the gold standard at Time Warp and Berghain-adjacent stages. 'Catharsis' and his decades of curation shaped European techno more than almost any other figure.
